Staying one step ahead.Heartland NAMA Na·ma n. pl. Nama or Na·mas 1. A member of a people of southwest Africa. 2. The Khoikhoin language of the Nama. president Krista Wolf says most of her hobbies have been on hold since the arrival of her children, Chauncey, age 6, and Melina and Wyatt, age 4. "Since their arrival, most of my creative energies are now focused on staying one step ahead of the kids," says Wolf. As manager, marketing communications for GROWMARK, Inc., Wolf says that as a professional she is constantly challenged to stay one step ahead, maintaining competitive advantage and effectively communicating to producers. She says they rely on their agency, Rhea & Kaiser to assist them with this challenge. "We find that employee's time to oversee implementation is increasingly limited and this has become as big of an issue as budget limitations. We are fortunate to have a 24-year relationship with Rhea & Kaiser; their staff knows our company well enough that they are almost intuitive in addressing our project assignments, allowing us to develop effective solutions," says Wolf. As a NAMA member since the mid-1980's, Wolf has served in various chapter positions and is also a past Executive Committee vice president, having served a three-year term. From a chapter perspective Wolf says NAMA provides a great opportunity to connect with individuals. From a national perspective she benefits tremendously from the professional development components of the national conference and agribusiness forum. "Knowing someone is a NAMA member is like a stamp of credibility," she says. NEW NAMA MEMBERS The following joined NAMA during November and December, 2004. Welcome!
