How's business?

In today's global business environment, that seemingly innocuous phrase can elicit panic, pride, or a litany of complaints. For RIM professionals, an accurate answer is "Business is on the move!" Standards, new legislation and other compliance issues, and new technology mean there is no longer a status quo [Latin, The existing state of things at any given date.] Status quo ante bellum means the state of things before the war. The status quo to be preserved by a preliminary injunction is the last actual, peaceable, uncontested status which preceded the pending controversy. . You either adapt and grow, or you risk getting left behind.

RIM professionals who make an effort to keep up-to-date on trends, technology, and techniques bring added value Added value in financial analysis of shares is to be distinguished from value added. Used as a measure of shareholder value, calculated using the formula:

Added Value = Sales - Purchases - Labour Costs - Capital Costs
