Stay Honest in Your Life - Find the BalanceWhen you do things, look for the two sides Our fears and depressions make us hunt for the upside But this is not honest, and sets us up for trouble Remember today is yesterdays future And the future is todays decision When you do things, look for the two sidesOur fears and depressions make us hunt for the upside But this is not honest, and sets us up for trouble Remember today is yesterdays future And the future is todays decision That's why most therapy and religious teachings don't cause contentment They're based on the idea that we can create an upper without a downer When I met kayling, she was so amazing, we walked and talked and danced and laughed It was so great, she dumped her fiancé, and I threw everything to the wind and we started planning the future. But something went really wrong. Day by day, I found little things I didn't expect and she found just a few idiosyncrasies in me, that she didn't like and bit by bit we started to judge each other and then the fizz went out of it and we were finished. I wouldn't change that for quids but it cost us both huge amounts of time and energy not to mention the heart break to find we were not going to have the future we expected. Really we could have been together forever if we'd understood this idea of balance. There's two sides to everything, everyone. To love someone – I mean really love someone, you've got to see the two sides and accept that one side is the direct consequence of the other. For example kayling was so creative, I loved that part of her artistry, but she was a scatter brain, now looking back I see you can't have one without the other. Shoot the scatter brain and you loose the creativity.
