State of Michigan Pilots Lawson Services Automation Software for HR Management Network Project Team.
ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2002
The State of Michigan's Human Resources Management Network (HRMN) team is piloting Lawson's Services Automation software as a way to improve management of approximately 20 software development projects, Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) announced today at the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) 2002 Conference in St. Louis.
Consistent with the company's vertical market strategy, Lawson is focused on using Services Automation to meet the particular needs of each of its target verticals. The State of Michigan, which currently uses Lawson's Human Resources suite, is one of Lawson's largest public sector customers. The Services Automation pilot involves about 100 users on the HRMN team.
Richard Huneke, HRMN project director for the State of Michigan, said he was interested in Lawson's Services Automation software as a way to improve project reporting and management. "Lawson's software works really well with our project planning and documentation tools," he said. "Also, the Services Automation solution can help us keep track of multiple projects involving teams that cross state departments and agencies, all from a single point of access."
Lawson's Services Automation software helps IT organizations provide more efficient and effective service delivery while ensuring that IT investments are aligned with the organization's objectives. It automates, organizes and manages projects, resources, utilization, time and costs. The latest version announced this fall includes a new portfolio management application, an intuitive analysis tool that helps decision-makers scrutinize investments and optimize and balance portfolios.
From employee efficiency and recruitment systems, to human resources and personnel tools, Lawson has developed software solutions for the public sector that address the needs of students, constituents, members, employees, vendors and the community. Lawson serves more than 120 public sector customers, including four of the 25 largest school districts in the United States and five of the top 20 state organizations. Kindergarten through 12th grade school districts, universities, colleges, cities, counties, state governments, public-owned utilities, membership organizations and service organizations use Lawson's software designed for the public sector.
