Both Frohnmayer's and Ray's raises were matched by their respective university foundations. The foundations both provide salary supplements for the university president.

Last year, Frohnmayer received $234,000 from the state and $189,000 from the foundation for a total of $423,000.

Frohnmayer's foundation supplement includes a small amount for an endowed professorship.

The base salary figure doesn't include other benefits Frohnmayer receives, including deferred compensation, contributions to a retirement plan and the value of the state-owned house Frohnmayer lives in. If those figures remain the same as last year, his total compensation package is worth just over $650,000.
