The increase boosts the portion of Frohnmayer's salary paid by the state to $245,700 and the portion paid by the UO Foundation to $199,260, for a total of $444,960. Last year, Frohnmayer received $234,000 from the state and $189,000 from the foundation for a total of $423,000. Frohnmayer's foundation supplement includes a small amount for an endowed professorship. The base salary figure doesn't include other benefits Frohnmayer receives, including deferred compensation, contributions to a retirement plan and the value of the state-owned house Frohnmayer lives in. If those figures remain the same as last year, his total compensation package is worth just over $650,000. Ray will receive $245,700 from the state and $180,000 from the OSU (Open Source UNIX) Refers to the Unix variants that are maintained as open source, which were primarily BSD Unix and Linux until Sun made its Solaris operating system open source in 2005.
