I would like have some information from you about how I might reinvent myself. --A. Someville Louisville, Kentucky I'm glad to hear that you're not singing that "I'm Too Old" song that plagues many professionals who have served long and hard in the work world. To start, read our story "Retire This!" in the February 2001 issue. It will give you inspiration, loads of useful info, and help you keep motivated in your new career goals. Next, you'll have to start researching the old-fashioned way new career and education options. If you're not on the Web already, get connected! Just about every college and university has a Web page containing all the vital information a prospective student needs, and some even offer online degree programs that you can complete in your home office, at work on your lunch break--anytime, anywhere you have access to a computer. For new career options, talk to people you know (and ask them who they know) about the kinds of jobs they have that seem interesting to you. Word-of-mouth is often a great way to find out who's hiring and for what positions, and it will keep you in the loop as you continue your education.
