) today announced the new QMS (1) (Minolta-QMS, Inc., Mobile, AL) A manufacturer of laser printers founded in 1977 by Jim Busby. Initially involved with controllers for printing bar codes and labels, it entered the laser printer business in the mid-1980s and set numerous records.  2060 Print System series, a family of five versatile 20 page-per-minute (ppm) monochrome printers for small and medium size workgroups. Designed to meet the needs of multiple application environments, including business workgroups, graphic arts graphic arts: see aquatint; drawing; drypoint; engraving; etching; illustration; linoleum block printing; lithography; mezzotint; niello; pastel; poster; silk-screen printing; silhouette; silverpoint; sketch; stencil; woodcut and wood engraving.  and pre-press, document imaging, and Windows 95 and NT, the QMS 2060 printers offer both high-performance network printing and large format, edge-to-edge printing capabilities up to 1200 dpi.

The QMS 2060 EX Print System offers users in pre-press or high end desktop publishing high quality output with its standard 1200 dpi resolution, edge-to-edge printing capabilities, and varied print media support.

For direct network connectivity, the QMS 2060 is equipped with a CrownNet for Ethernet interface, which simultaneously supports NetWare IPX/SPX See IPX. ; TCP/IP; EtherTalk; OS/2 LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area.
