Stars' Popularity at Internet Auction Sites Indicate Emmy Chances; Online Auction Portal Uses Internet Auctions as Measuring Stick.

Entertainment Editors

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Sept. 8, 2000

Bidder's Edge (www.biddersedge.com), the world's number one online auction portal, today released the first Emmy winner predictions based on online auction presence of top category nominees. For nearly 60 years, Emmy Awards have been doled out Adj. 1. doled out - given out in portions

to television's leading names, faces, and programs. In forming the forecast, Bidder's Edge chose the four key actor- and actress-oriented categories. Three of the auction-based guesses, amazingly, match up with the more educated predictions of noted television critics.

Bidder's Edge searches more than 200 online auction sites and collects data on the approximately 7.5 million items available at those sites at any given time. The winning predictions are based on the number of items associated with each nominee, such as autographed photos and posters, available at Internet auction sites on September 8.
