SANTA ANA and CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 2000
Joint Marketing, Technology and Consulting Implementation to Increase
Speed and Development Accuracy For Web-Based Code and Content
Starbase Corp. (Nasdaq: SBAS), the leading provider of collaboration products for the creation and management of integrated code and content eBusiness applications, and Pretzel Logic Software Inc., the leading provider of dynamic application life cycle management solutions, Monday announced the signing of a strategic marketing, technology and consulting implementation partnership.
As partners, the companies will provide integrated end-to-end Web development and management system solutions that will increase the speed and accuracy of Web-based content and application development for dot-com, ASP, Global 1000, and traditional IT organizations.
Pretzel Logic Software will offer integration and customization services for users of Starbase's StarTeam eBusiness products and extend those solutions to provide a total infrastructure support system. The Starbase technology provides an "eCycle" framework that supports the integration of "best-of-breed" products such as the company's flagship product StarTeam Enterprise and Starbase Server.
StarTeam is designed for Internet-enabled client/server systems and includes defect tracking, change management, version control, threaded conversation, Internet transparency and repository access via a Web browser. Starbase Server provides access for all the StarTeam Clients to a central repository of projects under configuration control.
"This is an exciting opportunity to deploy Pretzel Logic expertise and technology that will extend StarTeam technology across a reliable, dynamic infrastructure system," stated Srikanth Sundararajan CEO of Pretzel Logic Inc. "As the need for accelerating the delivery of customized content and applications to Web sites increases, it is imperative that these additions are introduced reliably. We look forward to helping Starbase customers accelerate their time to market while reducing their risks and costs related to less reliable and less efficient processes."
"Pretzel Logic's experience and specialized expertise with change control bring best-of-breed tools together into a customized solution, which with products like StarTeam, can then deliver a collaborative code and content configuration management system," stated James Smith, executive vice president Starbase Customer Group. "The combined solution will speed the critical development time-to-market and improve the quality of eBusiness applications necessary in today's eCommerce economy. The Web site has become the business-critical application that enterprises address today. We believe this partnership will enable an even faster and enhanced deployment of the StarTeam solution in eBusiness markets by leveraging Pretzel's expertise and infrastructure solution. Pretzel provides a significant extension to the Starbase consulting practice for enterprise eBusiness deployment."
"The demands of e-business are placing increased pressure on development and operations organizations to deliver reliable solutions at a rapid pace, stated Thomas Murphy, program director, META Group. "To accomplish this requires comprehensive solutions to manage both content and application source code in a cohesive manner and we expect that organizations without strong process and tools will lack the necessary e-gility to compete."
Pretzel Logic's solution applies people, process and technology resulting in an enterprise-strength infrastructure for managing changes to applications, data and content components in eBusiness environments. iChange is designed to leverage all of the features of StarTeam that enables teams of people to collaborate in the production of Web sites, e-commerce and mission-critical applications.
