To form a hypothesis. the existence of dark matter to explain observations that could be attributed to gravitational grav·i·ta·tion n. 1. Physics a. The act or process of moving under the influence of this attraction. 2. forces, but we don't know Don't know (DK, DKed) "Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party. what dark matter might be.
