Star Uranium Corp Acquires Lead-Zinc Prospect.

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan -- Star Uranium Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SUV) is pleased to announce the acquisition by staking from the Government of Alberta -- 230,400 acres (93,242 hectares) north of Zama Lake, Alberta, to cover part of an anomalous train of sphalerite (Zinc) and galena (Lead) grains in soils disclosed in a recently released Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Open File #5121/Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) SPE-77 on March 1st, 2006. Star Uranium has 100% interest in this property and there are no royalties.

The dispersal train consists of sphalerite and galena grains in till from the course sand fraction. In the case of sphalerite, the number of grains present in the heavy mineral sample concentrate is the highest ever detected in Canada in an exploration till sample -- in excess of 1000 grains in a 20 kg sample. Given the grain size, compaction of the till and till composition, it is likely that the source of the lead-zinc is within the property area. This discovery indicates potential for the discovery of Mississippi Valley Type lead-zinc deposits similar to those 330 km. to the NE at Pine Point mined by Cominco, now TeckCominco (TSX:TEK.MV.A) between 1964 and 1998. The same carbonate strata found at Pine Point occurs at depth near Zama Lake.

Cominco successfully mined the deposits producing a total of 64 million tonnes averaging 3.1% lead and 7% zinc that would equate to over $18 billion dollars in gross metal value at today's prices. These deposits were among the most profitable in Canadian Mining history. Lead and zinc prices are at the highest levels ever as demand for metals far exceeds supply, largely due to high economic growth in China and India. The geology and structural setting of the Zama Lake may represent a proximal source for similar lead-zinc deposits to those mined at Pine Point.

The sampling, which led to this discovery, was part of the Northern Resources Development Program of the Geological Survey of Canada, a division of Natural Resources Canada. The program was targeted principally towards kimberlite exploration, the program has paid unexpected dividends in discovery of high anomalous lead-zinc mineralization in till. SUV expects to mount a follow up program of further sampling, drilling and airborne geophysics to locate the source of Mississippi Valley type lead-zinc mineralization. The initial field program is expected to be underway within 45 days. The drilling program is expected to be done in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Canada and Alberta Geological Survey of Alberta Energy.
