Star Petroleum Corp.: Company Engages Energy Advisors.

CALGARY, Alberta -- On behalf of Star Petroleum Corp. (the "Company") (PINK SHEETS:SPMP) President Rod Burns, P. Eng., reports that the company has engaged the services of Robertson Cartwright of Salt Lake City to assist the Company with negotiating licensing and marketing rights to certain break-out technologies in the energy services sector. Further, the Company has identified a number of venture opportunities in Texas and Oklahoma with potential for development participation, and Robertson Cartwright will assist the Company in sourcing financing on a project-by-project basis.

Mr. Burns also reports that Mr. Horace (Moe) Rekunyk has recently joined the Company's Board of Directors and will assume the position of Chairman. Mr. Rekunyk is the founder of Inventus Technologies Inc., and the inventor of the open path infrared system that is being used in pipeline leak detection. He is also responsible for the adaptation of the Plug Power stationary fuel cell systems to supply power for the petroleum and pipeline requirements in remote 'off-grid' areas.

Mr. Burns commented, "This is a great addition to the management team of the Company. Mr. Rekunyk is a geological engineer who has worked in the energy industry since graduating in 1952. His initial training was with Gulf Oil Company (US) and his pipeline operations experience dates back to 1960 when he served as President and C.E.O. of Edmonton Pipeline Ltd., a regional crude oil gathering and transmission pipeline serving the Camrose and Joseph Lake areas in Alberta, and as President and Operations Manager of Fort Nelson Gas Utilities Ltd., a regional Gas Utility in British Columbia. He currently manages a private energy consulting and investment company. Mr. Rekunyk is the past President and C.E.O. of Pamoil Limited, Provident Resources Ltd., Canadian Merril Ltd. and Colonial Oil and Gas Ltd. He was a Senior Vice-President of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Ltd. (a controlled subsidiary of Anglo American Corporation) and a Director and Senior Officer of its controlled oil and gas subsidiaries, Francana Oil & Gas Ltd., Trend Exploration, Western Decalta and Pertimania Trend (Indonesia). Mr. Rekunyk was also the founder of Provident Resources Ltd. and is associated with other successful startup companies."
