Invotec introduces the Ultrabur, a delicate drill designed to assist in stapes stapes /sta·pes/ (sta´pez) [L.] the innermost of the auditory ossicles; it articulates by its head with the incus and its base is inserted into the oval window

This reusable, battery-powered drill, available in diamond, carbide, and perforator tips, offers the otologic surgeon a precise instrument for working on the stapes footplate footplate /foot·plate/ (-plat) the flat portion of the stapes, which is set into the oval window on the medial wall of the middle ear.
