The award was presented by the Workflow Management Coalition, Giga Information Group, and the Workflow and Reengineering International Association, in recognition of Standard Bank of South Africa's innovative implementation of FileNET's Panagon(TM) eProcess solutions, which have extended beyond corporate boundaries to address strategic business objectives.

Standard Bank of South Africa implemented FileNET's Panagon eProcess applications to deliver a Business Process Management (BPM) solution that has achieved improvement in productivity and reductions in processing time. BPM was first implemented in Stannic, the movable asset finance division of Standard Bank, which includes motor vehicles and airplanes.

Since then, Standard Bank has deployed Panagon BPM solutions throughout the organization to also include retail banking, home loans, corporate and merchant banking, insurance and trusts. According to Standard Bank, productivity has improved by 140 percent, turnaround on financial decisions has been significantly reduced from seven days to an average of seven minutes, and regional staff has been streamlined resulting in substantial organizational savings.
