Stand-up comedy takes over city clubs.

LIVERPOOL'S second Festivalof Comedy begins tonight with special events at thecity's stand-up cl ubs. Local talent R David and tele ("long distance") Operations performed remotely or by telephone. The "tele" prefix is used to designate many technologies such as telecommunications and teleconferencing.  vision comedy star Lucy Porter Lucy Porter (born 1973 in Croydon) is a British stand-up comedian living in Primrose Hill, North-West London, England.

She has performed at the Edinburgh Festival, the Brighton Festival and many clubs around Britain.
 will be performing at the celebratedRawhide night, at Baby Blue,on the Albert Dock. The Stand Out Club,at TheDoor,Hano ver Street, is also holding an evening of humour.

This evening will also see the second sell-out night of Bolton comedian Peter Kay at theLiverpool Pops,Kings Doc k.

Other highlights of the two-week festival a recomedy show sailings on the Mersey Ferries. The programme, which runs to July 13, alsoinc ludes a comedy tour of city centre pubs.

Stand-Up,Drink-Up will take its audience on w alkabout, visitingThe Brewery, Berry Street,The Magnet, Hardman Street,The Casa,Hope Street,and The Pilgrim,Pilgrim Street.

There will be pub tours on June 30 and July 1,2,7,8and 9.

The comedy ferry gigs are on the final sailings on July 6 and 13,leaving Liverpool at 6pmand arriving back at 6.50pm. Tickets are pounds 5 for both pub and ferry shows. Call 0151-726 0077.
