Stacy Adams Signs Clothing Licensee.
The new clothing collection will feature men's high-fashion tailored suits in the $150 to $200 retail price range. Eddy Navasky, CEO of Navaco Industries, stated that, "Stacy Adams Clothing will have unique touches that set them apart from the competition and appeal to the fashion conscious consumer."
Navaco will also be introducing a group of better boys' clothing under the Stacy Adams brand name that, according to Navasky, will "be a departure from what previously had been in the market." The introduction of Stacy Adams boys' clothing builds on the successful launch of Stacy Adams boys' footwear, which was introduced at retail this Spring.
John Florsheim, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Weyco Group, stated, "We are very pleased to be affiliated with Navaco Industries, given their heritage in the fashion and of the clothing market. Both our companies have been leaders in their respective industries for over 100 years, making it a unique partnership with a great deal of history. We believe that there is tremendous potential for the clothing to parallel the quality and distribution of Stacy Adams Footwear, as well as Stacy Adams Socks and Neckwear."
Established in 1875, Stacy Adams is a leader in the men's fashion footwear market with distribution in better department, specialty and shoe stores nationwide. In an effort to leverage the strength of the Stacy Adams brand, the company has expanded into select categories via licensing. The clothing license is the third such agreement for Weyco Group in the last 18 months. In 1998, Weyco Group originally signed Keepers International for socks, which has been a major success in the marketplace. In March, Weyco Group signed Jimmy Sales to do Stacy Adams Neckwear. Both the neckwear and clothing will debut at MAGIC in August.
Navaco, which was founded in 1893, currently markets men's and boys' clothing under the Don Mart and Falcone brand names.
