Stable Tour: John Oxx.

4 b c Desert King - Eurobird

Runs at Navan [tomorrow] and ran well on his reappearance at Leopardstown, even though the distance was a bit short for him. Stays well and likes soft ground, but tolerates good going. Rain would greatly improve his chance at Navan.

We have him in the Ascot Gold Cup, although I don't know if he is going to stay that trip. His dam was much better with blinkers, so we put them on him, but I am not so sure he needs them. He is perfectly tough and genuine.

4 b c Green Desert - Key Change

Had some setbacks last season but has matured a lot from three to four. Has a rating of 98 so may run in a handicap next, but we will see if he progresses into stakes company. He'll be a nice horse between a 1m

and 10f.

4 b f Common Grounds - Caraiyma

Ran okay at Cork on Monday and looks like a filly who will be in the money in Listed sprints. Should improve a little and likes soft ground.

4 ch c Halling - African Peace

Rated 105 and a hard horse to place, but runs in the Mooresbridge Stakes at The Curragh on Sunday. Has done well from three to four and is in good shape, but he will need to show improvement to win races this year.

Miss Honorine

4 b f Highest Honor - Nini Princesse

Won two Listed races last year and also runs in the Mooresbridge. Looks to stay 1m2f well. We hope she will have a good year, but it won't be too easy to place her. She is going to have to take on good horses, but we hope we can improve her record a bit more.

4 gr c Sadler's Wells - Timarida

Won over 1m at Cork on Sunday, when he produced a great turn of foot, but he is bred to go further. Has had two quick runs on firmish ground, which he wouldn't be in love with, so we will wait four to six weeks before we run him again.

He has quite a high rating, so he may well move up to Listed company in June.

4 b f Doyoun - Zafsala

Ran well in the Ribblesdale Stakes before being well beaten in the Irish Oaks. We kept her in training to see if she can win a Listed race. She has done well.

b g Dr Devious - Akilara

A lovely-looking horse and a good handicapper. I think there should be another couple of races in him.

b c Key Of Luck - Alaiyda

Goes for the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial and then we will take it one race at a time, but he came out of the Ballysax very well. It's all about improvement with a horse like that - and if he is going to make the grade and have a chance in the Derby, he will have to keep improving. His stamina is not guaranteed.

b c Entrepreneur - Aliya

A nice horse who should stay further than 1m. I'm not sure where we are going to run him - he has had a little setback since his promising fourth at The Curragh - but I think he should win his maiden pretty quickly. He could win at 1m, but would be better at 1m2f.

b f Southern Halo - Alliage

Was third over 1m at Leopardstown on her only start last season and she may run at Naas on Monday week. Looks like she could make up into a nice filly over a distance of ground.

b f Alzao - Stage Struck

Out of a Sadler's Wells daughter of Sun Princess, so she should go a distance. On pedigree she should get close enough to 1m4f and she could make up into a useful filly. She was only beaten a short head on her debut at Tipperary last week, but won't run again for a few weeks.

b f Sadler's Wells - My Potters

We were a little disappointed with her on her return at Leopardstown, as she seemed to run quite green even though she had already had two previous races, but if she goes the right way she might run in the Salsabil Stakes at Navan on Sunday week.

br c Singspiel - Allespagne

Improved a lot from his first run and is crying out for a bit of distance. There is no suitable 1m4f race coming up so he will probably run in the Classic trial at Gowran Park on Sunday week. Unfortunately, they have dropped the distance to 9f .

b f Air Express - Danishara

An unraced filly who looks a nice maiden, but she won't run for a few weeks.

b f Desert King - Dararita

We were happy with her win in a seven-furlong maiden at Leopardstown because she is bred to go a bit of distance - there is plenty of stamina on the dam's side. Her next run will probably be in the Blue Wind Stakes at Cork on May 16.

b f Rainbow Quest - Ebadiyla

Rather disappointed us at Tipperary last week and she maybe wasn't quite right afterwards, so we are giving her a little break. She won't run for several weeks, but hopefully she will return to form and win her maiden when she does.

ch f Rainbow Quest - Ebaziya

Quite small but a nice little filly. All her family are notoriously poor workers so we don't really know what to make of her, but I will probably run her in the Salsabil Stakes.

b f Diesis - Silversword

A filly who likes soft ground, but she wasn't forward enough to run early in the season. May run in a Listed race to see if we can get a little bit more black type. Hopefully we will get some rain before she next runs.

b f Theatrical - Darling Flame

We hadn't done a lot with her before her win at Tipperary last week. She did a good job but unfortunately she doesn't have any entries in forthcoming Listed races, so we may have to supplement her for the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown on May 11.

ch c Cadeaux Genereux - Handaza

Was my highest-rated

two-year-old. Had a few setbacks during the winter but is in good shape now and is going well. We hope to run him at the beginning of June and he could be a Jersey Stakes possible.

High Day

b c Monsun - All Time Great

Ran very well on his debut at Leopardstown. He was slowly away and had no chance after that. A nice maiden who won't run again for a while, but we like him.

b c Sadler's Wells - Braiswick

He was going to run on into a decent finishing position on his debut at The Curragh but got interfered with. He's a nice maiden who'll be suited by 1m4f, particularly with cut in the ground.

b f Sadler's Wells - Arutua

Runs in the Athasi Stakes on Sunday. She is bred to get a distance - the dam is a daughter of Arc winner All Along - but she showed a good bit of speed when she won her only start as a

two-year-old at Fairyhouse. She is in good form and is a promising filly, and we will see what we find out on Sunday.

b c Bluebird - Masafiya

A useful maiden who was unlucky at Cork on Monday. He should have won but he met with some interference shortly after the start. He got into a bad position and then couldn't get a run until it was all over. He was flying at the finish. Should win a similar race soon enough.

b c Darshaan - Tragic Point

Ran a good race when second at Leopardstown and has gone up a few pounds for that. We'll have to see how he carries the extra weight but he is a nice handicapper.

ch f Rainbow Quest - Shunaire

Was disappointing when favourite at Tipperary last week, but the ground was a bit dead and she likes it a bit faster. She might be one to watch when the ground is right for her.

Rainbow World

b c Rainbow Quest - Far Fetched

Made a promising start at The Curragh and may run at Navan [tomorrow] if there isn't too much rain. He will like good ground and is a useful maiden.

Rain Lily

b f Red Ransom - Charlock

She might not have beaten much at Listowel and she had an advantage in that the track was favouring front-runners. She'd had three runs under her belt and she skipped round in front, so the result may have flattered her. She has a rating of 88 and we'll have to see if we can win again with her.

b c Darshaan - Rayseka

A nice, promising horse and a good maiden. He got a bit agitated in the stalls and wasn't ready for the break at The Curragh last time, but he came with a good rattle in the straight. Will run in the 1m4f maiden at Leopardstown on the day of the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial.

Sea Dart

ch c Diesis - Wedding Of The Sea

Beat Arundel and Dalcassian at Leopardstown last October and the form looked good when they both came out and won at The Curragh. Has had a number of setbacks and we hope to have him back at the end of June. A promising horse.

b f Ashkalani - Sharemata

Dermot Weld thinks a good bit of Evolving Tactics, who beat this one over 1m at Cork on Monday. The race didn't go according to plan for her and she probably requires a bit further. I think she will be a useful filly when she goes over a longer distance and she could get a bit of black type.

b c Green Desert - Takarouna

A nice, well-bred horse who has had a couple of setbacks. Still a bit away from a run but we are hopeful.

br c Dr Devious - Zayana

Has had a number of setbacks but is a nice horse. A useful maiden for later in the season.

I have a very nice unnamed Daylami colt out of Ebadiyla, who won the 1997 Irish Oaks. He is a lovely horse and we have high hopes for him. I also have a nice filly called Tarbela (Grand Lodge - Tarwiya).
