The brief article which appeared in the June 2006 issue of C.I. (News in Brief, p. 31) renewed my sadness, bordering on anger, that a university of the calibre and reputation of St. F. X. would appear to be unable to locate a more worthy candidate on whom to bestow an honorary degree. To paraphrase a holy pontiff who, as Vicar of Christ, gave exemplary service during my lifetime, "the smoke of Satan has entered St. F. X. University."
