The third generation architecture of Open File Manager is disk-level technology that improves product performance and eliminates software interoperability issues. Use of disk-level technology ensures that all blocks on a volume can be copied thus providing a complete data protection solution.

Open File Manager now supports storage management frameworks, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Volume Shadow Copy Service. Open File Manager builds on the basic storage management framework and adds incremental capabilities. Specifically, Open File Manager adds system-wide volume synchronization to VSS as well as enabling backup of legacy and non-VSS compliant business applications. Open File Manager continues to provide universal support for heterogeneous computing environments with a complete open file solution for backup applications, VSS compliant or non-VSS compliant, on Windows and NetWare operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap. .

"Open file backup is a critical component in any comprehensive data protection strategy, whether Windows-based or otherwise," said Bill North, director of research, storage software for IDC. "As a result, the demand for software that can overcome the locking and interoperability issues associated with open file backup will continue to grow for the foreseeable future."

Open File Manager is the leading open file management solution for Microsoft and Netware environments, with over 300,000 licenses sold worldwide. Its rich feature set helps IT professionals automate backup of open files, improve application availability and lower operating costs. Open File Manager enables existing backup software to back up open files, ensuring business continuity and protection of mission-critical data across the enterprise.

Open File Manager disk-level technology--first developed by St. Bernard Software for its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  Partners--is now made available directly to enterprises and organizations through its latest release. The product launch responds to increasing demand by IT departments for solutions that integrate into more advanced storage management systems, such as backup, disaster recovery, replication and serverless backup applications.
