Sprint Nextel Receives Top Honor from U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The USHCC named Sprint Nextel its 2006 "Corporation of the Year," the highest corporate award bestowed on any company by the USHCC. The recognition, known as the President's Award The President's Award may mean:

, was presented to Sprint Nextel President and Chief Executive Officer Gary Forsee by USHCC President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Barrera on Saturday night at an awards dinner during the USHCC's 27th Annual National Convention and Business Expo in Philadelphia.

"Sprint Nextel is an ongoing supporter of the USHCC, so I've seen first-hand what a valuable resource the USHCC can be," Forsee said when accepting the award. "I am glad to know that they, in turn, see the value Sprint Nextel has brought to the table."

Sprint Nextel received this year's President's Award based on its demonstrated commitment to the Hispanic community and its unique understanding of the factors that make this market unique. Examples of this include: Spanish-language advertising, collateral, Web site materials and customer service; services such as Sprint TV En Vivo and the first-to-market Hispanic launch of Sprint Power Vision; products such as International Direct Connect and International Long Distance; diverse sponsorships such as the current MANA U.S. Tour; a strong supplier-diversity program; community outreach; and ongoing partnerships with key organizations such as the USHCC.
