Springer launches "Acta Geotechnica".Springer Science + Business (New York) will begin the publication of "Acta Geotechnica," a new quarterly journal, with an issue in early 2006. An annual subscription to the new title costs $241. Targeted to a global audience of engineering professionals, the journal is devoted to the publication and dissemination of basic and applied research in geo-engineering, an interdisciplinary field dealing with geo-materials (rocks and soils). Emphasis for the journal will be placed on the interplay between the geo-mechanical models and their engineering applications, with editorial coverage of the fundamental mechanisms behind the phenomena and processes in geo-materials, from large-scale to nano-scale. It will carry reviews, research, commentary and feature articles on the mechanical, physical, hydraulic and thermal properties that affect applications in geo-engineering, including foundation, dam, mining, tunneling, geo-hazard, geo-environmental and petroleum engineering. |
