VICKSBURG

Visit several privately owned homes in a wide range of architectural styles, from antebellum Greek Revival Greek revival: see classic revival.

After the day's tours are done, visitors are invited to attend programs including the Historic Natchez Pageant, a long-running musical production featuring more than 200 performers that recreates a romanticized era of the city's history; "Songs of the South," a rousing musical filled with traditional spirituals, Gershwin tunes, and more; "Southern Road to Freedom," a musical tribute to the African-American experience here; and "Southern Exposure," a clever spoof See spoofing.

COLUMBUS

A visit to a Columbus tour home doesn't just offer a taste of fine architecture and antiques; many of the the homes also feature live 1800s re-creations with costumed hosts. More than 20 homes, gardens, and churches will be part of this year's pilgrimage, which also will also feature special events such as a costumed tour of Friendship Cemetery, walking tours and carriage rides, and special musical presentations March 29 and April 9. GULF COAST

Celebrate the history and hospitality of the coast by attending this 58th annual series of free pilgrimages in cities including Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, Diamondhead, Gautier, Gulfport, Long Beach, Moss Point, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Pass Christian, and Waveland. Historic homes, grand gardens, municipal buildings, and public landmarks will all be part of the tours. Special events will include Living History reenactments April 2 and 3 at Fort Maurepas

ABERDEEN

Known as a "city of riches" ever since its days as a thriving cotton port, this picturesque northern Mississippi city celebrates its 30th annual pilgrimage this year with a host of special events, including a Proper Afternoon Tea, pancake pancake, thin, flat cake, made of batter and baked on a griddle or fried in a pan. Morning and afternoon tours will be held Friday and Saturday, and homes will also be open Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Costumed candlelight tours of Hillcrest Cemetery will be held Friday and Saturday evenings, followed by receptions at the Montrose mansion. BROOKHAVEN

Beautiful estate homes, charming cottages, and Victorian mansions will all be open to visitors on this special day. Visitors can also take a walking tour of Brookhaven's historic district, led by local historian Tom Moak, and enjoy seminars and discover beautiful plants at a special Garden Extravaganza around the historic log cabin log cabin or log house, style of home typical of the American pioneer on the Western frontier of the United States in the great westward expansion after 1765. PASS CHRISTIAN

This coastal city became a popular resort area in the 1800s, when many prominent New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded  residents built lavish "cottages" along the six-mile coastline. Today, Pass Christian is considered "the largest architecturally intact major 19th-century resort area in the South;" witness its grandeur during the city's 28th annual Tour of Homes and Tea. Several historic homes will be open to the public from 1:30-5 p.m. during this annual event. Tickets may be purchased at the Pass Christian Historical Society at 203 E.
