Spotfire to Present At Joint Statistical Meetings, Largest Gathering of Statisticians Held in North America.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 2000

Spotfire(R), Inc., a leading provider of decision analytics software and services, today announced that Dr. Shawn Kenner, product manager, Life Science Applications at Spotfire, will present at the Joint Statistical Meetings, being held August 13 through 17 at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome. Sponsored by the American Statistical Association, the International Biometric Society, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the Statistical Society of Canada, the conference will promote excellence in the application of statistical science, statistical journals and improving statistical education.

Kenner will present "Flexible Decision Support for Pharmaceutical R&D" as part of the Statistical Visualization in Bioinformatics workshop session on Monday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. She will discuss decision support platforms for bioinformatics that meet stringent requirements, yet are flexible enough to support new answers to questions in pharmaceutical drug discovery. She will also introduce the audience to current technology that allows researchers and project teams to swiftly access and analyze vast arrays of data.

Earning her Ph.D. in chemical physics from the University of Texas in Austin, where she was a Welch Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellow, Kenner has focused her career on information technology as applied to discovery in the life sciences. She joined Spotfire in 1999 from MDL Information Systems, where she served as product manager for combinatorial chemistry products. Previously, she spent four years conducting research and teaching at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Mo.
