Spotfire's New DecisionSite Chemistry Services Gives Life Sciences Companies an Information Advantage with Novel Chemistry Analysis Capabilities.

Spotfire, Inc., a leading provider of analytics software, today introduced DecisionSite(R) 8.2 and DecisionSite(R) for Lead Discovery (DSLD) 8.2, the latest version of the company's flagship product and its visual, interactive analytic chemistry application. Chief among DSLD's new features is Chemistry Services, a powerful framework to help life science companies drive faster, more efficient drug discovery through unprecedented flexibility for working with the disparate technologies and data sources that chemists use during analysis.

Among the first deployments of DecisionSite and DSLD 8.2 is at Organon. With shared head offices in Roseland, New Jersey, and Oss, The Netherlands, Organon is the human health care business unit of Akzo Nobel and creates, manufactures and markets prescription medicines.

--Isentris Support - DecisionSite for Lead Discovery 8.2 continues its long term support of Elsevier MDL's ISIS line of products, and adds access to the MDL Direct Data cartridge for chemical data access, display and editing.

--Data Source Integration -- Chemistry Services also can be configured to integrate with other vendor technologies for data storage, retrieval, display and editing. The flexibility of Chemistry Services enables a company to interrogate multiple data sources with a singular visual, interactive analytical environment.

--Intelligent Data Access - Cartridge-based access to chemical databases offers intelligent ways of accessing data such as substructure searching. DecisionSite for Lead Discovery 8.2 supports integration between Information Services and cartridge-based data access systems so chemists and researchers can easily leverage multiple search and retrieval mechanisms supported by that cartridge.

--Retrieve-Only Data Sources - Because Chemistry Services supports integration with desktop rendering tools, importing and viewing structures from custom databases or local file formats are easily supported by DecisionSite's visual, interactive analytical environment.

--Structure Visualization - DecisionSite for Lead Discovery 8.2 frames structure visualization; Chemistry Services enables companies to decide how to display chemical data formats within their analytical environment.

--Structure Editing - DecisionSite for Lead Discovery 8.2 supports integration with preferred chemistry editing software.

--Data Analysis Enhancements - DecisionSite 8.2 features new bar charts that make relationships in data much more clear, better number labeling, an improved column relationships tool and a depivoting tool.

--Development Tools - DecisionSite 8.2 includes new tools to help developers further create, manage and enhance DecisionSite applications and extensions.

--Support for .NET - DecisionSite 8.2 supports Microsoft's .NET framework.

--New APIs - DecisionSite 8.2 has a new set of APIs such as an enhanced context menu and code examples enabling developers to add context menus to guides.

--Computation Services for SAS(R) clients - Support for SAS clients enables customers to spread statistical expertise within their organization.

--DecisionSite MapConnect - DecisionSite MapConnect enhances the data analysis capabilities of ESRI ArcGIS with the visual, interactive analysis capabilities of DecisionSite.
