Spoons across America stretches into its 6th successful year.


Cindy Farkas Glanzrock a commer-cial real estate broker has always had a passion for children and education.

Today she participates in programs and projects to fulfill her mission of getting kids to eat healthy. As a volunteer teacher for the AIWF/NY Days of Taste[R] program, she participates in a discovery-based program for fourth and fifth grade children to learn about food and how it weaves its way through daily life from the farm to the table. This year, she partnered with Chef Jason Potanovich from Terrace In The Sky.

This was the sixth year that Spoons Across America Spoons Across America is a national non-profit organization providing children's food, nutrition, education, and networking for providers.  in October. It took place in a record 65 class-rooms in Manhattan and Brooklyn with more than 1,700 public school children participating.

The program teams up chefs, food professionals, farmers and teachers to guide elementary school children through a four-week curriculum that includes exploration of taste, a visit with a local farmer or visit to a Greenmarket, preparation of a harvest salad, and a trip to the chef's restaurant for a behind-the-scenes tour and lunch.
