G3 platform. The Splash G610 color server and Xerox DocuColor 12 copier/printer solution, with increased speed, higher printing resolution, and auto-duplexing capabilities, is ideal for the most discerning color proofing, comping, and quality short-run production printing requirements.

Among the new features available in the Splash G610 color server are Fidelity Compression, AutoTrapping, Splash WebQueue Manager, and enhanced tools for ColorCal. Fidelity Compression enables printing at full 600 dpi resolution at the engine-rated speed of 12.5 color pages per minute. Auto Trapping automatically corrects halos caused by misregistration in composite files. The Splash WebQueue Manager allows users to check queue status, change job settings, delete jobs, and check copier/printer status right from their desktop with a standard browser. Enhanced tools for ColorCal make editing custom color curves easier and more accurate.

The Splash G610 also includes comprehensive color management technology that further builds on Splash's benchmark color capabilities. With ColorCal, Splash's patented calibration utility, the engine is accurately calibrated cal·i·brate

The Splash G610 color server includes a full suite of industry standard press profiles as well as the ability to create custom profiles. In addition, with Splash's Proof-then-Print technology, the Splash G610 color server can be configured to print simultaneously to a large format printer, allowing a user to proof from the copier and then print to the large format device.

Quin, senior vice president and general manager, Color Solutions Business Unit, Xerox Corporation. "The combination of the Splash G610 color server with our new DocuColor 12 copier/printer allows our customers the choice of using a Macintosh-based color server to deliver full color documents and bring in new business opportunities."

The Splash G610 offers a host of additional features including: direct PostScript printing, EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) A PostScript file format used to transfer a graphic image between applications and platforms. EPS files contain PostScript code as well as an optional preview image in TIFF, WMF, PICT or EPSI, the latter being an ASCII-only format. , TIFF, and PDF (Portable Document Format) The de facto standard for document publishing from Adobe.
