After our initial greetings, Pandayji said, "Your visit is only a short one, so we must make the most of it. Let''s clear immigration and customs and we''ll go directly to your hotel.You must be exhausted." Soon enough, we found ourselves in a cab on our way to the hotel. We spent a good deal of time catching up on personal family news. Memories flooded my mind as I checked into the hotel. It was the same one where Mardai and I had stayed when we visited India together. Even my suite was the same. "How did you manage to arrange all this, Pandayji?" I asked. "It was no problem, John," he replied,"for old time''s sake. And,of course, I wanted you to be as comfortable as possible. You go ahead and unpack. Get some rest, if you can. We have a busy day tomorrow. I''ll see you in the morning. "Pandayji looked at his watch, smiled kindly and left. I knew he wanted to stay and talk, but he also knew how tired I was. That''s the type of person Pandayji is. Since it was late, I wasted no time getting ready for bed. My suite was on the western side of the hotel overlooking the Arabian Sea. Many times, I had stood by those large, picture windows and watched the waves smash against the rocks far below. Just before turning in, I returned once more to the windows and looked over the ocean into the great void beyond.It was very dark, but there were pinpoints of light riding the ocean waves. The fishermen must be out, I thought. I was about to collapse into bed when I saw one of the lights dart across the horizon with remarkable speed.
