Year-to-date, Spirit has produced growth in all traffic figures. Spirit's load factor is up 2.1 percent, passengers carried is up 24 percent, revenue passenger miles is up nearly 29 percent and available seat miles Available seat miles (ASM) is a measure of an airline flight's passenger carrying capacity. It is equal to the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown. This measures an airlines capacity for transporting passengers. have increased more than 26 percent. For the month of October 2001, load factor was 60.7 percent and passengers carried were 145,893 for the month. Revenue Passenger Miles decreased 27.5 percent for the month, but the airline remains up in this category by 28.8 percent for the year. Available Seat Miles were down 19.3 percent for the month over the same time last year, but are up 26.1 percent for the year to date.
