Spire to Provide Prosperity Solar Power with Solar Module Production Line.

BEDFORD, Mass. -- Spire Corporation (Nasdaq: SPIR) today announced that it has entered into a contract with Prosperity Solar Power, Inc. of Taipei City, Taiwan to provide Spire's ten megawatt turnkey photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing production line. This will be the first large photovoltaic module production line established in Taiwan.

Prosperity Solar Power selected Spire based on Spire's experience in developing the processes and building the equipment needed for efficient manufacture of high quality, photovoltaic modules, as well as Spire's comprehensive training and service support. The production line includes equipment for solar cell testing, stringing and lay-up, lamination, framing, and module testing. Spire will also provide process training as well as a conceptual plant layout design.
