Spinnaker Networks Names Nelson Bye VP of Sales; Industry Veteran to Spearhead Aggressive Sales Program.

Spinnaker Networks(TM), a leader in developing next generation distributed storage systems, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Nelson Bye to the position of Vice President of Sales. Bye is an experienced sales executive with an extensive background in both storage and startup environments.

In his new position, Bye will be charged with the responsibility of implementing a channel-friendly sales program that capitalizes on Spinnaker's unique Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution, the SpinServer(TM). He reports to company president and CEO, Ron Bianchini.

Bye comes to Spinnaker after serving as Senior Vice President for HAL Computer Systems, Inc. and Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Inc. At HAL, Bye grew the startup's sales to $50 million, and continued the growth as Senior Vice President from $50 million to more than $80 million after the company was consolidated into its parent company, Fujitsu. He started and grew the sales team to over 75 people.

Prior to joining the Fujitsu companies, Bye was a founding member and first sales employee at Convex Computer Corporation. He would later become Convex's Vice President and General Manager of Western Operations, growing the Western Region from 0 to 150 sales people and generating more than $100 million in revenue.

He graduated with honors in 1972 from Indiana University with a B.S. in business administration/marketing.
