A rare heart virus has forced Mad Dogg Athletics Inc. co-founder Jonathan Goldberg Jonathan Goldberg is a literary theorist and was until recently the Sir William Osler Professor of English Literature at Johns Hopkins University. He is currently Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of English at Emory University. Previously, he taught at Duke University.  to sell his half of his Venice-based indoor race-bicycle licensing and instruction program for "spinning" to his business partner, John Baudhuin, for an undisclosed sum.

Goldberg, who is known in the industry as Johnny G., came up with the idea for indoor "spinning" cycling classes in 1987, while he was training for a cross-country bike trip.

By providing instruction to groups of enthusiasts on stationary bikes Stationary Bike is a short story written by Stephen King, which was originally published in the fifth edition of From the Borderlands in 2003.
