Spike Broadband Systems' New Branding Reflects Leadership Role in the Fixed Wireless Market.

NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2001

Spike Broadband Systems, Inc., a leading provider of carrier-grade, fixed wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  access solutions, today unveiled its new corporate branding Corporate branding is the practice of using a company's name as a product brand name. It is an attempt to leverage corporate brand equity to create product brand recognition. It is a type of family branding or umbrella brand.  initiative, distinguishing the equipment provider as a leader in the fixed wireless marketplace.

The branding includes a new corporate logo that will be applied to all corporate and marketing materials, including data sheets and brochures, as well as to all newly manufactured Spike Broadband Systems equipment. The new branding will also be displayed on the company's Web site at http://www.spikebroadband.net.

As part of the new branding campaign, the company introduced "Spike Continuum" as the group product name for the company's fixed wireless technology platform for the simultaneous deployment of planned, IP-based enhancements. Spike will also continue to support circuit-based connectivity services. The new product nomenclature nomenclature /no·men·cla·ture/ (no´men-kla?cher) a classified system of names, as of anatomical structures, organisms, etc.
