The event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Herrera School, 1350 S. 11th St., Phoenix. CPLC's Christmas tradition started 36 years ago, when 50 children attended the first party and were given a present with a Christmas stocking filled with goodies. Since then CPLC's annual children's Christmas party has become a huge success, becoming the largest event of its kind in Arizona.

Preparation for the party begins long before the actual day of the event. Multiple nights of wrapping presents take place for an entire week prior to the event. Community corporate sponsors join CPLC staff in wrapping thousands of toys and stuffing stockings with goodies.

The event starts with the arrival of Santa Claus Santa Claus: see Nicholas, Saint.
