entry level solution

) and Sphere Communications announced today that the new Polycom SoundPoint(R) IP300 entry level desktop phone has been Sphere Certified with the new Sphericall 4 system from Sphere Communications. This expands support within the Sphericall system to include the full range of Polycom IP desktop phones (SoundPoint IP300, IP500, and IP600), providing a broad set of options for enterprises to select from with a common look and feel and Polycom's proven quality.

Sphere Communications new Sphericall 4 products deliver combined voice, video, enterprise instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or , presence to the enterprise desktop and fully integrate with the most common enterprise business applications such as Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox.  & Outlook. The Sphericall Desktop operates synchronously with the line of Polycom IP telephones; the combination provides an entirely new level of enterprise telecommunications tools at the desktop.

The IP 300 offers users easy access to familiar telephony features facilitating an easy transition for users from traditional phones to the new IP system. In addition to supporting two telephone lines, the IP 300 features high quality voice technology, support for power over Ethernet Power over Ethernet or PoE technology describes a system to transmit electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair cable in an Ethernet network. , a dual 10/100 Ethernet switch A device that connects clients and servers to each other in an Ethernet network.
