A contest in which competitors are eliminated as they fail to spell a given word correctly. Also called spelldown.

 Victory! This fun, four game package targets a student's previously missed words as games increase in difficulty. Students progress from recognizing correct spellings to unscrambling letters to filling in the blanks to finally spelling SPELLING, The art of putting the proper letters in words.
