SpectraSite Purchases Airadigm Communications' Entire Tower Inventory.


LITTLE CHUTE, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--SpectraSite Communications, a leading wireless site development and tower management company, today announced that it has signed a contract with Airadigm Communications, Inc. to purchase 47 of Airadigm's towers and build approximately 125 additional towers throughout Wisconsin and Iowa.

The agreement marks the first time that a wireless carrier has sold its entire tower inventory to a third party. Purchase price of the deal is not being disclosed.

Under the terms of the agreement, SpectraSite will assume ownership of all existing Airadigm towers and will build towers for Airadigm in the future. SpectraSite will also finance new tower construction for Airadigm and will lease tower space back to Airadigm.
