Spectra Engineering Acquires Hayward and Pakan Associates; Strengthens Regional Presence in Hudson Valley.Business & Environmental Editors LATHAM, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 2001 Albany, New York-based Spectra Environmental Group, Inc. has acquired one of the oldest private engineering firms in the region, Hayward and Pakan Associates of Poughkeepsie. Spectra founder Robert C. LaFleur stated that, "In so doing, Spectra strengthens its regional presence in the Hudson River Hudson River River, New York, U.S. Originating in the Adirondack Mountains and flowing for about 315 mi (507 km) to New York City, it was named for Henry Hudson, who explored it in 1609.
