Special Children have place in RE attorney's big heart.

An impressive gathering joined in a special tribute to Robert J. Ivanhoe, a noted real estate attorney at the annual benefit dinner of the Hebrew Academy of Special Children (HASC) in the Puck Building.

Ivanhoe, a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP, received the 2006 Humanitarian Award from HASC for his "deep compassion and concern" for the welfare of 275 developmentally disabled children who are enrolled in educational and therapeutic programs at HASC's educational centers and summer programs.

Allen I. Gross, president & CEO of GFI Capital, who served as chairman of the evening, applauded HASC for its pioneering role in giving new hope to the special children in the community. "They took this problem out of the closet," he noted.

The award to Ivanhoe was presented by Gary Jacob, of Glenwood Management, who praised his brother-in-law and best friend for his "big heart."

In response, Ivanhoe thanked HASC and emotionally recounted the visit he and his wife Ann paid to Camp HASC last summer. "We instantly became attached to the children," he said. In a touching moment, Robert's son Matthew presented a bouquet of flowers to his mother, Ann.

Another frequent visitor to Camp HASC in Parksville, NY is Barry Lefkowitz, of Mack-Cali Realty, whose son was a camper at HASC for the past five summers and is "looking forward to being there again this summer." Lefkowitz said that when he comes to take his son home at the end of the camping season, "I just can't get him to leave."

Barry Hertz, chairman and CEO of Track Data Corporation and a member of the executive board of HASC, called the dinner "a major source of encouragement to the exceptional executive staff and summer program team." He singled out Rabbis Shlomo Stern and Shmuel Kahn, who head Camp HASC.

Rabbi Stern, in his remarks, announced the dedication of a new sports complex and indoor Olympic pool on July 2. Rabbi Stern had special praise for the Kushner family for its "visionary support of the special children of HASC."

The proceeds of the Ivanhoe dinner were earmarked for the 2006 season of Camp HASC. A special tribute committee was established to help honor Ivanhoe. In addition to Mssrs.
