Spatial Announces Release of World's First ACIS-enabled Products Supporting Linux; Rapid Adoption of ACIS for Linux Results in Products from Fluent and Simmetrix.

Spatial Inc. (AMEX: STY), the world's leading developer of web-based business-to-business (b2b) interoperability solutions and open, component 3D modeling technology, announces the launch of the world's first ACIS(R)-enabled design products on the Linux operating system.

Advanced ACIS-based engineering products are now commercially available from Fluent Inc. and Simmetrix in response to increasing customer demand for access to products supporting Linux. ACIS, the de facto 3D CAD solid modeling engine providing the world's most advanced technology for engineers and designers in every industry, was the first kernel modeler to support Linux. ACIS is licensed by over 530 software developers, serving more than 1.5 million end users worldwide. Red Hat's Linux is an award-winning open source operating system, gathering momentum as an alternative operating system of choice for more than 10 million users in the software, Internet and end user communities.

Many world-leading vendors have already licensed ACIS for Linux. The first two products to be released are Gambit 1.2 by Fluent Inc, and MeshSim 3.0 from Simmetrix.

Released in December 1999, GAMBIT 1.2 from Fluent Inc. (www.fluent.com), is the world's first ACIS-enabled product supporting the Linux operating system. GAMBIT provides a complete environment for geometry modeling, mesh generation, and mesh visualization for all Fluent's general-purpose flow analysis applications, including FLUENT 5, FIDAP, and POLYFLOW.
