Space Imaging announced today that a new Regional Affiliate, Space Imaging Middle East, has signed a contract for access to Earth imagery collected by the IKONOS satellite. With the successful launch of IKONOS on September 24, 1999, the contract for Space Imaging Middle East to collect and distribute the imagery products became effective. By offering the new IKONOS-based imagery products under the CARTERRA(TM) brand name, Space Imaging Middle East will provide its customers in the Middle East access to the world's first high-resolution commercial satellite imagery Satellite imagery consists of photographs of Earth or other planets made from artificial satellites.
