Southwest PIMA Golf Outing draws crowd.On May 14, 2004, the Southwestern Division held their Annual Shotgun Start A Shotgun Start is a golf tournament format in which all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes. Each hole on a course will be the tee off hole for each foursome. Group 1 would start from hole 1, Group 2 from hole 2, etc. Golf Outing at the Sunol Valley Sunol Valley is located in Alameda County, California, USA. The small town of Sunol lies in the valley. It is largely rural, but is in proximity to the highly populated Bay Area suburbs of Fremont, Pleasanton, and Livermore. Interstate 680 runs through the valley. The population was 1,332 at the 2000 census. . Over 80 golfers participated mill personal and vendors from the California and Oregon regions. The vendors, as usual, supplied many wonderful prizes for all participants. The 1st place trophy was awarded to the Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation team with a winning score of 59. Also associated with the golf outing is our annual awarding of the Thomas J. Henry Memorial Scholarship. Pete Kritscher of Ondeo/Nalco presented the $1000 scholarship to Colin Schmidt of San Leandro, CA.
