Southern Pacific lines will convey Coos Bay, White City and Siskiyou branches to short line operator, Railtex.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1994--Southern Pacific Lines announced Tuesday an agreement for sale and lease of three Oregon branch lines, the Coos Bay, White City and Siskiyou branches, to the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad (AAR reporting marks CORP) is a short-line railroad operating between Northern California and Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was previously a mainline owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) between Eugene and Weed, California  Inc. (COPR), a wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock.

RailTex through its subsidiaries operates some 2,700 miles of track in 15 states, Canada and Mexico.

SP Vice President of Strategic Development Michael D. Ongerth said, "This sale to a recognized leader in the short lines industry means that shippers throughout the region will receive excellent freight service, as well as continued connection with Southern Pacific for shipments outside Oregon."

The sale will transfer 336 miles of SP lines in Oregon, from Belleview to Springfield Jct., near Eugene, Oregon, and from Danebo (near Eugene) to Cordes, Oregon. COPR will have trackage track·age
