FSMTA completely revised its bylaws The rules and regulations enacted by an association or a corporation to provide a framework for its operation and management. Also, the association made the transition from having four pages in the magazine, Florida Music Director, to publishing its own eight-page newsletter, The Florida State Music Teacher. With ten issues per year, the newsletter, along with the FSMTA website at www.fmta.org, keeps membership abreast of all state activities. In addition to these new ventures, FSMTA held its sixty-seventh annual conference, "A Musical Odyssey: Different Ports of Call," November 1-4, 2001, in St. Petersburg. The conference included workshops in the areas of new literature, accompanying skills, certification and community outreach. Sessions also were presented by the duo team of Weekley and Arganbright, as well as the Amadeus Trio.
