Southern Division. (Division News).I would like to thank all the state presidents for their continued support of the Southern Division Competitions. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm for this event at the Summit for MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) Leadership. They are a hard-working, intelligent group--no surprise to those of you in the individual states--and we are quite lucky to have them leading us. This issue, I want to spotlight the Kentucky MTA (KMTA KMTA Kentucky Music Teachers Association KMTA Kentucky Motor Transport Association KMTA Kansas Music Teachers Association KMTA Kitsap Music Teachers Association KMTA Kairos Meet the Authors KMTA Karachi Metropolitan Transport Authority ) for its 50th Annual Conference. The wonderful program, chaired by Carol Dennes, NCTM NCTM National Council of Teachers of Mathematics NCTM Nationally Certified Teacher of Music NCTM North Carolina Transportation Museum NCTM National Capital Trolley Museum NCTM Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage , included many sessions by Kentucky members, as well as student recitals and competitions. As an added perk, the University of Louisville brought in the Emerson String Quartet The Emerson String Quartet is a renowned New York–based string quartet in residence at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Previously the Quartet was in residence at The Hartt School. . To top off the festivities, KMTA honored Maurice Hinson. NCTM, with the establishment of a named endowment fund in the MTNA FOUNDATION. Dr. R. Wayne Gibson, NCTM, MTNA president, gave the keynote speech at the banquet.
