Southern Division.As we continue to travel around the Southern Division states, our next stop will be in Georgia, where we will spotlight two local associations. In the spring of 2003, Coweta Fayette MTA (CFMTA CFMTA Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Associations CFMTA Central Florida Music Teachers Association, Inc ) was awarded the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) FOUNDATION New Local Association Start-Up Grant. CFMTA used the grant to present a piano concerto competition for high-school age students. Each winner performed a movement of Beethoven's Concerto, Op. 15 with the Southern Crescent Symphony in an all-Beethoven concert. In March, the North DeKalb MTA (NDMTA NDMTA North Dakota Music Teachers Association ) sponsored a Bach seminar featuring the well-known Bach specialist, Virginia Hutchings. The object of the seminar was to promote interest in teaching Bach's works and encourage participation in the biennial NDMTA Bach Competition this fall. Moving to Kentucky, we will make a stop with the Ashland Area MTA, which co-sponsored a three-day Clavinova Festival/Piano Showcase with the Yamaha Corporation, Dan Ferguson Music and The Paramount Arts Center The Paramount Arts Center is a historic theater located in Ashland, Kentucky, in the United States.
