The Columbia MTA showcased William DeVan's "Velocity and Ease," Betsy Neal's forum "Adapting Music and Teaching Techniques for Students With Learning Challenges" and Scott Price's session "What is This Mess in Front of Me? Demystifying the Score for Young Pianists." In Tennessee, the Martin Area MTA presented Andrea Anderson's workshop "From Harpsichord to Grand." The Nashville Area MTA organized a statewide project "M4M M4M Men for Men (men seeking men) " (Musicians for Mississippi), where Tennessee musicians assisted music students and teachers who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. In Virginia, Central Virginia MTA's membership goal encourages teachers of minority instruments to join. The Tidewater Music Teachers Forum held its first annual Play-a-Thon, raising money for scholarship programs and community outreach.
