Southern California Edison To Hold Grand Opening Ceremony for Its New Lighting Technology Center in Irwindale.


EVENT

    The future looks brighter -- and less expensive -- for architects
and builders thanks to Southern California Edison's (SCE) new Lighting
Technology Center opening Monday in Irwindale!

    Artificial lighting uses approximately one-third of all
electricity generated. SCE's Lighting Technology Center will test some
of the world's most advanced lighting systems in order to find the
systems that are the most energy efficient. The lighting center will
offer customers the use of application test laboratories, training
programs and technical assistance to help them select
state-of-the-art, energy-saving light systems for their businesses.

                         Monday, Dec. 6, 2004
          Program begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m.
                     Refreshments will be served.

   Invited guests include members of the lighting fixture design and
   engineering communities, government officials, architects, urban
       planners, interior designers and winners of the Lighting
      for Tomorrow National Lighting Fixture Design Competition.

                           TOURS and VISUALS

     Guests will be provided informal tours and demonstrations of
   the lighting center's test modules, including but not limited to
     the Heliodon Laboratory; Energy Efficient Stairwell Lighting;
                State-of-the-art Kitchen Lighting and;
                 Under-cabinet Light Durability Tests.
