It's better to prevent problems than deal with them after they've occurred. That's why the National Prevention Through Recreation Services School, to be held Feb. 5-8 in Chattanooga, Tenn., will be such a key meeting. A joint presentation of NRPA and the Chattanooga Parks, Recreation, Arts & Culture Department, the program will include topics such as measuring tools and program evaluations, community partnering from a grassroots perspective, and workforce investment and youth enhancement services. Next year's Southern Regional Conference, held in collaboration with the Alabama Recreation and Park Association, "Igniting Your Potential for Success," will include a National Playground Safety Institute course. The conference, to be held March 29 to April 2, will again have a therapeutic recreation track of courses, as well as many other exciting programs. An exhibitor hall will host approximately 100 park and recreation vendors.
