South-Western Educational Publishing Unveils Enhanced Web Site; Virtual Community Design and User-friendly Navigation Promote Ease of Use.
The utilization of a virtual community design offers the site a new look and a new mission: to give customers easy access to the vast array of products and services South-Western has to offer. A leader in business education products for over 90 years, South-Western also offers products in Career Development, Computer Education, English/Communication, Mathematics, Science, and School-to-Careers. Through sister company West Educational Publishing, South-Western also offers instructional materials for Social Studies, Health, Fine Arts, and Career Education.
In addition to enhanced navigational capabilities and enticing visuals, each course area on the site includes a support community consisting of features such as Peer Talk, News, Events, Resources, Featured Products, and Talk to Us. Updates also include on-line resources for teachers and students, as well as classroom activities correlated to both South-Western product and non-product areas. Customers can conveniently search catalogs, place secured orders, request sample copies, and submit technical support queries on-line. Links to course-specific newsletters are available, and future plans for the site include a virtual community discussion forum for each educational discipline.
A new addition to the site is an on-line version of The Balance Sheet. Since 1920, SWEP has published The Balance Sheet, a popular, complimentary educational resource magazine authored by, and written for, business education teachers. Each monthly on-line edition will serve as a forum for the constructive discussion of problems of interest to both the business classroom teacher and the business profession.
South-Western Educational Publishing (SWEP) is a commanding force in mixed media publishing, specializing in instructional materials within the high school and postsecondary curricula for over 90 years.
International Thomson Publishing (ITP), a division of the Thomson Corporation, governs ten educational publishing companies, each focusing on the production of innovative and market-leading products and services for lifelong learning.
