South Central Division.Both the Arkansas MTA state performance competitions and the South Central Division competitions were held at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Established as Little Rock Junior College by the Little Rock School District in 1927, it became a private four-year institution, called Little Rock University, in 1957. It returned to public status in 1969 when it was merged into the University of Arkansas System under its present name. (UALR UALR University of Arkansas at Little Rock ). Our division meeting at the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) conference will be Sunday, April 3, at 5:00 P.M. in Suites 418-420 of The Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers. Arkansas announced the affiliation of Delta MTA in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Louisiana MTA had a wonderful convention; its recycled music sale made more than $600, which, when combined with its silent auction profits, provides $1,000 for another FOUNDATION Fellow. Oklahoma MTA held two district conferences in November; both featured Richard Rudebock presenting a session for collegiate members on communicating effectively. Performing artists for the conferences included flutist Kristin Grant, Ouachita Baptist University Ouachita Baptist University is private, liberal arts, undergraduate institution. Location Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Arkadelphia is approximately 65 miles southwest of Little Rock and approximately 73 miles northeast of ; collaborative pianist Starla Hibler, NCTM, East Central University; and pianist Tom Lanners, NCTM, Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University, at Stillwater; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1890, opened 1891 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1957. . Hibler and Lanners also presented pedagogy sessions. The Texas MTA collegiate conference will be held in conjunction with the Texas Music Educators Association's conference February 9-12, 2005, in San Antonio.
